Description: An incredibly chesty and tall Nayaling with an hourglass figure, rosy shaded skin, full lips, golden eyes, and black hair that is framed by a pair of curled horns growing from her temples. Her face has a few basic augments, and her arms are obviously milspec on the Ronin Expedition model. She usually wears a white string bikini modified with a safety-warning orange top stitched to it emblazoned with the words "CAUTION: DO TOUCH", a playful warning and silly invitation. Velvet's breasts are quite sensitive and leak milk with the slightest provocation, something she enjoys a great deal. Why is it a warning? Because it's the surest way to get her motor running, and she will expect the person responsible to deal with it.
Personality: "Fiesty" is the first word that comes to most people's minds. Velvet has never been one of the Nayalings who tried to mute their appearance and blend in, and instead revels in the strength and beauty of her body, always happy to show off. She lives for showing off what her body can do, whether that be on the battlefield, or in the bedroom. She is a curious person, and if she has to pick between a new experience and a well paying job, she'll almost always go for the former over the latter. She also has a hair trigger temper, and is quick to reach for violence, either her natural tech abilities of her super-soldier heritage, or for her fists when angered, and equally quick to settle things in the bed room (or on the barroom floor) after the initial flare of temper if the person who set her off manages to survive the initial onslaught (and is cute). She has a slight addiction to Mama Rei's, which she claims she can stop at any time, but in truth if she has to pick between it and any other beverage she'll go for it every time. The only thing that keeps her from glutting herself on it is that her travels across the new world rarely leave her in a place where she has any choice EXCEPT to ration it between stops.
Abilities: A powerful and fiery warrior, who isn't afraid to throw her natural super-soldier tech abilities into the fray as well. She is no Technoblade, but her baphometic heritage still grants her an edge in fights that she isn't afraid to utilize. She much prefers to use greatswords such as nodachi, and to get stuck into the fight up close and personal, but has some little ability with long arms. She loathes pistols and other single hand small arms, feeling that they just don't pack the sort of PUNCH she wants in a fight. Beyond that, she is tough, fast, and possesses a keen tactical mind for how to deal as much damage as quickly as possible to whoever her sights fall on. She is uninterested in leading others into battle, or in the niceties of most situations, and looks for a physical solution to nearly any problem she runs into, and has both the skills and aptitudes to make that outlook on life work for her. She has also developed some skill in haggling with traders, as it is perhaps the only way she's managed to keep feeding her Mama Rei's addiction when far from Cardinal Holdings.

Old Chad: Not to be confused with Young Chad, the current leader of the Ronin Expedition's primary salients into the old world seas. Velvet was raised, like many kids in the Ronin Expedition, on Old Chad's knee, listening to the ancient, scarred elf's stories of the melted plastic islands in the gyres, the ancient artificial islands, the heat blasted cities, the world where the sun hangs in the sky so high and blistering that it cooks you where you stand, the treasures of the old world for anyone with the will to dive into the boiling depths of the ancient and forbidden pacific. He even told the kids nonsense about the world being round! Always good for a laugh. Despite the occasional tall tail Old Chad threw in, Velvet loved his stories, and has a soft place in her heart for the grizzled old cyborg of an elf who was the first one to inspire her to a life of adventuring.
Saisei: While Velvet cut her teeth in the expedition training facilities in the Ronin Expedition, it wasn't until she was 'shanghaied' (that is to say, got totally drunk off her tits in a pirate bar and woke up on their raider the following evening), that she really found her feet as a fighter. She was taken under the wing by the Artificiate Peacekeeper Saisei, who mentored her not only in piracy but in adventuring on the seas and coasts of the New World. Today she tries to pop in on Saisei any time she's in the neighborhood, enjoying the slime and tendril spas of the Consentacle Bloom Onsen for a fraction of the price anyone else has to pay.
Sir Dusk Sweetie: The first time Velvet was in the Duty Free Ports she got into an argument, and was drawn up short when a local Nayaling challenged the man who had set her off to a duel. This was how she met Sir Dusk Sweetie, a dim, if adorably good natured himbo of a Nayaling Enforcer who took it upon himself to show her around the territory. Despite having several flings with him and his other spouses, she's turned down his proposals for marriage, but is always happy to touch base (and other things) with them again any time her travels bring her back to the lands under 'Bacco control.
Important Life Moments: Velvet was born to a pair of adventurers who were part of the Ronin Expedition, and raised among the other adventuring brats in the training facilities meant to raise them to contribute to the expedition's future. Unlike many other corporate boarding schools, this meant that she was able to see her parents relatively often any time they were in port, and even could live with them during that, as expedition members with children were assigned habicubes with direct attachments to the training facilities while on shore-leave, both so that they could spend time with their children (corporate believing that this would help indoctrinate the children into the adventuring spirit to go explore the old world for the board's bottom line), and to act as TAs and substitutes for the retirees that staffed the training facility.
Velvet always knew she was going to be an adventurer, but it wasn't the old world that interested her most, that was cool and all, but she heard about all the things their discoveries made POSSIBLE in the new world! She wanted to go and see THAT too! She could always come back and run a few tours after! Her parents were supportive of this, and signed the necessary loan documentation against Velvet's education so that when she graduated the facility she could go where she wanted and explore as she wished. Velvet became a freelancer the day she turned 18, first exploring all the parts and experiences that the Ronin Expedition island had to offer and had been denied her up until then! This was how she ended up shanghaied onto a Calico Redistribution Raider, and her education really began. A few years pass, with Velvet sending a good portion of her wages back home to help pay off the loans her parents had taken out, and she felt she had learned all she could on the high seas, and gotten the broad view of the new world. She has recently jumped ship and begun working in Cardinal Holdings, looking for work in the megacities and caravans between them. There's so much more of the New World she wants to see!
She wants to run heists on Cardinal Holdings vaults, to hunt beastkin with auditors in Schwebenwagen, fight with, or for, rebel gangs in Czarina Tropical, experience haze, lustful weeks in the tantric sex gardens of Sarawati, help test new weaponry from Soon-Bok Heavy Ordnance against invading Kaijuu, do a tour on the line of Slyth and Jabber, join a raid into the Tarantulina Peninsula. She wants to participate in feudal warfare of 'Bacco, run a stint as a lizard girl in the Ur-Um Wins and Spirits pastures, participate in Sarajevo hostile takeovers, and see if she can star in one of J.A.V. Digital Entertainment's ryona action porn epics. She's nowhere near done adventuring and exploring!
