Description: Scarlet is a tall Nayaling woman with an extremely toned build. Her skin is cranberry red and she has short, rear-pointing horns. Most of the time, with the exception of the tail, her entire body is covered by a suit of finely engraved polysteel armour bearing the crest of House Janiel. To go with this, she also carries with her a long knife and a heavy carbon shield.
Personality: Scarlet had always been a taciturn and focused woman, but after the loss of her honour through disqualification, her clipped speech has devolved into low growls through grinding teeth. Her persuit of familial justice has left her with little time to make friends, but those who knew her younger self retain her undying loyalty.
Abilities: One would think that her physique or skill with a sword would be her most powerful abilities. While both of these factors do make her formidable, her main strength lies in her sheer force of ego.
Relationships:
Cobalt - Her uncle and previous Patriarch of House Janiel. Scarlet aims to drag him kicking and screaming back to her mother, only to stop if one of them is killed in the process.
Vermilion - Scarlet's mother. If it hadn't have been for her brother, she would have been House Janiel's Matriarch, and surely would have served it far better than him.
Important Life Events:
Scarlet was born under the banner of Minor House Janiel.
The house's patriarch, her uncle, had always paraded his knightly offspring and position of leadership in front of Scarlet's mother. Naturally this disrespect for his own sister made Scarlet furious, but her mother insisted that she maintain respect for his authority lest he decide to cast them down.
She channelled her frustration into swordswomanship, using it as an outlet to drive herself forward along the path of knighthood. It was not long before her rage-fuelled body was sculpted to perfection.
It was around this time that a merger was proposed to her uncle by Minor House Feater, where the winner of a wet tabard contest would take the head of the board while the loser would be cast out of their house altogether. Being a cocky bastard, her uncle accepted the challenge immediately, deciding that he would randomly select a champion, boasting that any member of his court could "easily surpass anyone House Feater could possibly muster."
Out of all the possible champions to be selected, it just so happened that Scarlet's name was drawn. This greatly displeased her uncle, who was hoping to have one of his own progeny put forward for the contest.
She won, but was retroactively disqualified when they found that her shirt had a lower thread-count than was legal.
As it turned out, her uncle had been so obstinate in his refusal to see Scarlet's suitability that he had swapped her tabard for the thinner one before the contest. This was the straw that broke the hotdog's back for Scarlet. Now that her uncle held no power and had so casually robbed her of a righteous victory, she vowed to exact her revenge on him for all he had done.
