Slyth & Jabber
Work in Progress
A small holdings company built on the foundations of a successful law firm,
S&J quickly became a bulwark against the mutants and monsters of Tarantulina Peninsula, trading the
protection of the New World for quarterly imports of food, guns and pharmaceuticals from other territories
for their safety. S&J houses no megacities, but an intricate web of solar charging stations turned into
fortified villages and towns, bristling with gun batteries, mortars and artillery. The ever present dangers
of mutant invasions has turned residents of S&J into hardy, capable individuals, and many desert their
posts to offer their impressive combat skills to higher bidders.
As is so often the case, the CEO of
S&J, Major Habanero Fiesta, has realised that his territory's income relies on the existence of
Tarantulina Peninsula and its influx of mutants, and has done everything in his power to avoid a full scale
eradication of the threat.

List of Settlements
- Command Center Alpha: Built upon the
ruins of the former megacity foundation that was leveled by the constant mutant warfare S&J engages
in, it sits on the northern coast of S&J, the original inhabitants were forced to take shelter in
the early datacenters below before fighting to reclaim, and fortify the surface. The home of the legal
and combat geniuses Wilhelmina Slyth and James Jabber, it is by far the most sprawling and deeply dug of
all command centers of the rear most 'command-echelon' of the three tiered layers of Slyth &
Jabber's network of charging station bunker towns. While it is largely abandoned by the Fiesta
dynasty as being 'too boring', it is here, in the ant-hive like nested tunnels, bunkers, and
datacenters all interwoven and acting as the central nerve center for the entire war effort. In the past
few decades even it's middle managers have begun to grow harried and upset beyond the point of drug
induced euphoria's ability to placate as the workloads and backlog of necessary business and
contract functions fall apart due to the disinterest of the current CEO and his extended family of newly
risen executives in anything except unarmed mutant wrestling on the front lines.
- The Smeltery: This Slyth & Jabber
bunker town sits in the 2nd line, the heart of the logistical spread of communications and supply
network that keeps the flow of munitions and goods flowing to the front lines. The Smeltery, formally
known as A.I. Shackle Enclave - Svarog, is a combination warehouse distribution hub and datacenter
enclave, housing the massive and shackled Hive A.I. known as Svarog, named for an ancient old world god
of fire and forges, who oversees and directs all S&J logistical efforts. It is here that orders are
processed, and then sent back out to be enacted by the deific artificial intelligence whose core is in
this bunker settlement, but whose intelligence is distributed across the entirety of S&J's
second and front lines. The vast waste heat of his processing units is used in metal recycling
refinement on the surface.
- The Squared Citadel: Part military
academy and part unending no-holds-barred rumble, the Squared Citadel has over the years produced some
of the finest, most concussed fighting minds in the entire New World. Though admissions are nominally
limited to the direct offspring of legacies and proven mutant-fighters, any young S&J ham and egger
with the right look who manages to distinguish themselves in battle may very well find themselves
receiving a mega-push through the Squared Citadel's ranks. The current dean of the Squared Citadel,
H.R. "Honor Roll" O'Connor, has been a controversial administrator, with his increased
focus on communication skills and grappling over "flippy shit" receiving significant pushback
within the ranks.
- The Masked Salient: Officially named
Forward Outpost 289, the Masked Salient is so named for the fact of all the forward most outposts in
Slyth & Jabber, it is the one that sticks strictly to the tradition of MASKED wrestling that is what
defines the Luchador. The inhabitants are no less glory seeking or mad cap in their antics than many of
the other S&J front line communities, but hey feel that the loss of the traditional luchador mask by
most who claim to be wrestlers to be a terrible loss. Further, they feel that the true reason why the
S&J offense has been called off is that without the proud tradition of embodying the MASK not
one's own personal glory, the great fighters of S&J have lost their way. Their masks are highly
coveted by the rest of the forward line's more sane fighters; as they are not only some of the most
finely crafted facial protective gear available, but include built in self regenerating gas filtration,
adjusting night vision, FOF mutant scanning, and look fucking RAD.
People of Slyth & Jabber
List of Major Figures
- Major Habanero Fiesta
- Cammy the Cannibal: Not all
mutants are psychotic flesh eating monster, some are sociopathic flesh eating monster like Cammy. Able
to pass as a splicer in shadows Cammy has made a business out of buying and selling mutant parts as she
travels from town to town. Weather it was a small joke that got taken out of context, some unique fetish
or the something more sinister the nickname Cannibal has stuck to Cammy who now laughs along with the
nickname and has even added it to her sign on her caravan. Some people say bums and thieves from each
town go missing whenever Cammy visits but Cammy is always long gone before anyone decided to investigate
further.
- Birth Mother Tarawet: Birth Mothers are
gargantuan monstrosities of rampant stem sludge, having encapsulated the malfunctioning
bio-diversification facility they were created from. These facilities inside continue to pump out
malformed mutants, giving the impression of a gigantic mother giving birth. The conditions to create
Birth Mothers are exceedingly rare; bio-diversification facilities need to be contained in a larger
shell building, have their genetic material tanks leak into the malfunctioning coding sluice and fill
the surrounding area with coded, living stem-sludge. This series of sequential mishaps is so infrequent
that all Birth Mothers are given names.
Birth Mother Tarawet resides on the furthest tip of
Tarantulina Peninsula, deep in mutant territory. Excursions aimed at destroying Tarawet have so far
ended in catastrophic failure. Most shockingly is that the rare few survivors from these excursions
claim that Tarawet seems to have exceptional control over its mass, forming flawless giant human limbs,
artistically sculpted hands, and - most frighteningly - perfect giant recreations of the faces of those
staring at it.
